Religion at St. Gabriel Catholic School in the Northland of Kansas City Missouri

Students are taught Bible history, Christian values and Catholic traditions through daily religion classes. Additionally, St. Gabriel students attend a student-led Mass weekly. Students have the opportunity to read scripture, serve at the altar, present gifts and sing in the choir, providing wonderful experiences to better understand the Mass and gain confidence in speaking and singing before a group.

Since the late 1970's NCEA has offered assessment instruments designed to strengthen catechetical/religious education programs. Assessment of Catechesis/Religious Education (ACRE for students) helps school, parish and diocesan leaders evaluate the faith knowledge and attitudes of students in Catholic schools and parish-based religious education program.

Serving Others

Throughout the school year students participate in service projects and fundraisers to benefit children's hospitals or support local and national needs. Through these efforts children have practical experience in learning to answer God's call to serve.
